how it all started.
Our land in Wisconsin has been a special place to me for a long time. It has been in our family since I was 12 years old and for the past 30 years I have been hunting, fishing, and working on the land.
This all started because the original owner of the land, a man by the name of Elmer, used to make “open pan” maple syrup and my dad and I would go out there to help him. He shared his wisdom with us and some of my earliest and most favorite memories are from making maple syrup with him.
Now my dad and I have our own evaporator and we make our syrup in that same way, which is the old traditional way of making maple syrup. Sap is first collected from the Sugar Maple trees, which is the primary tree on our land, and it is then boiled down to make syrup.
We take great pride in the fact that our maple syrup is 100% pure, all-natural and will never have any additives or preservatives. My dad and I share a love of the land and working with our hands. I’m proud to carry on this family tradition each year and I am happy that I get to share it.
